Founder-led in Memphis

Process first.
Technology where it earns its place.

Bluff City Digital is the consulting practice of John Sanders, a Memphis technology and operations leader who helps growing companies turn expensive workflow bottlenecks into reliable operating methods.

Meet the founder

Built by an operator who works inside the complexity.

John Sanders founded Bluff City Digital around a straightforward belief: the best systems work begins with the operating process, not the platform.

John currently serves as Vice President of Technology for a national, family-owned material-handling business. His experience also spans retail and digital commerce, where customer experience, revenue operations, inventory, fulfillment, finance, and technology have to work as one.

That perspective shapes every engagement. The work starts with one costly bottleneck, maps how work actually moves, and defines the minimum reliable future state before implementation. When a build makes sense, Bluff City Digital uses existing platforms where possible and leaves the team with clear roles, documentation, training, and a method it can own.

The Operational Systems Diagnostic provides a fixed-scope way to see the process, friction, risk, and implementation path before funding the fix.

How the work is approached

Diagnose before building. Stabilize after launch.

Each engagement is grounded in the operation as it exists today and designed so the people responsible for the work can understand, run, and improve what changes.

01

Diagnose the real workflow

Trace the people, handoffs, systems, data, decisions, and exception paths behind the visible problem.

02

Design the minimum reliable state

Define the smallest practical future state with clear ownership, controls, and expected business value.

03

Implement for ownership

Configure fields, automations, integrations, roles, documentation, and training around the agreed process.

04

Stabilize the change

Review adoption, exceptions, and remaining friction after launch, then tune the workflow where evidence supports it.

Experience across the operating chain

Business process, technology, and AI in one conversation.

John's work spans the connective tissue between commercial, warehouse, inventory, finance, and operating teams. Start with the bottleneck, then use only the capabilities the solution requires.

Start with one bottleneck

Bring the process you can no longer afford to work around.
